A new independent living development in Hunstanton has opened, providing 61 affordable apartments with round-the-clock care for people over 55.
A new independent living development for people aged over 55 has officially opened in Hunstanton.
Lavender View provides 61 one and two-bedroom apartments available for affordable rent, alongside care and support designed to help residents remain independent for longer.
The development includes 50 one-bedroom and 11 two-bedroom homes.
Residents have access to care and support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, provided by Radis Community Care.
Shared facilities include a café, communal lounge, activity room, landscaped gardens, hairdressing facilities, a spa room and mobility scooter storage.
Norfolk County Council has contributed £2.9 million towards the project through its Independent Living programme.
The scheme has been developed by Places for People in partnership with Norfolk County Council, Homes England, Lovell Later Living, Lovell Partnerships and other care and design partners.
Additional grant funding has been provided by Homes England.
The development is intended to meet growing demand for accommodation which allows older people to retain their own home while having care available when needed.
Priority is being given to people with eligible care and support needs, particularly those already living in west Norfolk.
The scheme takes its name from the lavender fields for which the area around Hunstanton is well known.
