Three men have been arrested after an Acle resident reported suspected rogue traders carrying out roofing work and demanding payments.
Three men have been arrested after a resident in Acle reported being targeted by suspected rogue traders.
Norfolk Police says the victim was approached by people who claimed there were problems with the roof of their property and offered to carry out repair work.
Work was subsequently undertaken and the resident was asked to make large payments.
Police say items were also reportedly taken from the property during the incident.
Officers launched an investigation and three men, aged in their twenties and thirties, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and fraud.
All three have since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
Norfolk Constabulary is using the incident to remind residents to be cautious when approached at home by people offering unsolicited building or repair work.
People are advised not to feel pressured into agreeing to work immediately and to take time to check the identity and credentials of anyone offering services at the door.
Police are particularly encouraging people to look out for older or potentially vulnerable relatives and neighbours who could be targeted by rogue traders.
Anyone who believes they may have been approached by suspicious traders is being encouraged to report their concerns to police.
