Road Users Urged To Share Responsibility

A new Norfolk road safety campaign is encouraging drivers and motorcyclists to work together to reduce collisions and save lives.

Drivers and motorcyclists across Norfolk are being encouraged to play their part in making the county's roads safer through a new awareness campaign.

The initiative reminds all road users that preventing collisions is a shared responsibility and encourages people to slow down, stay focused and always be aware of others using the road.

A key message of the campaign is for drivers to look twice for motorcyclists, who can be more difficult to spot than larger vehicles, particularly at junctions or when overtaking. Riders are also being encouraged to make themselves as visible as possible and to ride within the speed limit and according to the road conditions.

As part of the campaign, a series of short safety videos is being released, highlighting common situations that can lead to collisions and offering practical advice on how they can be avoided.

Motorcyclists are among the most vulnerable road users, and even minor mistakes can have serious consequences. Organisers hope the campaign will encourage everyone to think more carefully about their behaviour behind the wheel or on two wheels.

The campaign reinforces the message that by slowing down, remaining alert and showing consideration for each other, everyone can help make Norfolk's roads safer for all.
